Environmental Sustainability & Resource Equity
Sustainable development must be rooted in the equitable distribution and management of natural resources. This research pillar addresses the critical energy-water-food nexus, investigating how socio-economic inequality in resource access dictates outcomes in a changing climate.
SEFNep champions community-based natural resource management as a vital tool for empowering local populations. We focus on enhancing water security and equity, addressing resource equity, and developing frameworks that support ecological balance. By understanding and dismantling the socio-economic barriers to resource access, we help communities build long-term resilience and foster sustainable livelihoods.
